Cookie Policy

How this website uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. Last updated 25 September 2026.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, work in much the same way. They let a website remember your device and your choices. Some are needed for a site to work; others are optional and need your consent.

This policy applies to the Aspen Dental Care website only. It sits alongside our privacy notice, which explains how we handle personal information in the practice.

2. Your consent

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, we may only set non-essential cookies with your consent. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you want to Accept all or Reject non-essential cookies. Both choices are equally easy to make, and nothing non-essential is set until you decide.

You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page, or the button at the top of this page. Your choice is remembered on this device only.

3. Cookies and storage we use

NameTypePurposeDuration
aspen-cookie-consent-v2 Essential Stores whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, so we don’t ask again on every page. Set by us, in your browser’s local storage. Until you clear your browser data
Google Maps (e.g. NID, CONSENT, SOCS) Non-essential Set by Google when the interactive map on our Contact and Patient Resources pages loads. Used by Google for security, preferences and, depending on your Google settings, personalisation. The map only loads after you accept non-essential cookies; otherwise we show a link to open directions in a new tab. Set by Google; typically 6 months to 2 years
Google Fonts & Tailwind CDN No cookies Font and style files are loaded from third-party servers, which receive your IP address to deliver the file, but they do not set cookies. n/a

We do not currently use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent again.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may stop parts of this or other websites working properly. Guidance for common browsers:
